Why tracing activities are important
Tracing activities stimulate child’s eye - hand coordination and visual-motor integration. When children follow dotted lines or other kind of lines with pencils or with another drawing tools, they simultaneously follow and compare their evolving lines with original ones. This process strengthen visual-motor integration and fine-motor hand and fingers movements control.
Tracing activities stimulate acquisition of basic graphomotor, fine-motor and pre-writing skills and competences which later play important role in development of writing and other important skills.
Worksheets and activities in this workbook
Workbook contains 162 worksheets designed for strengthening children’s visual-motor integration and basic graphomotor skills by asking children to trace dotted or dashed rounded shapes. Template shapes differ in size. In some activities dotted shapes are accompanied with outer or inner shapes intended to help children while drawing.
Activities and tasks difficulty increase throughout the workbook by decreasing size of original shapes.
