and small shapes

Why finishing shapes activities are important

Finishing unfinished shapes stimulate child’s eye - hand coordination. When children draw missing parts of printed shapes, they simultaneously compare their lines with drawings of complete shapes. This evaluation is followed by hand and fingers micro-movements to correct the direction of the line. The whole process strengthen visual-motor integration and fine-motor hand and fingers movements control.

Worksheets and activities in this workbook

Workbook contains 152 worksheets designed for strengthening children’s visual-motor integration and basic graphomotor skills by asking children to finish different unfinished shapes.

Task difficulty increase throughout the workbook in multiple ways:

  • with increasing complexity of shapes (from circle to more complex shapes),

  • with decreasing size of shapes,

  • with increasing number of missing parts in shapes,

  • with increasing length of missing parts in shapes.
