CONNECTING - STRAIGHT LINES AND ANGLES

This workbook helps children develop the ability to draw straight lines and change the direction of drawing through engaging dot-to-dot activities. Children complete the tasks by connecting strings of dots, gradually progressing from simpler to more challenging patterns.

The workbook contains 104 worksheets.

How the difficulty progresses

Activities become progressively more challenging in three ways:

• by increasing the length of the dot patterns,

• by introducing different line orientations and more complex shapes,

• by increasing the distance between the dots.

Why dot-connecting activities are important

When children connect dots, they continuously compare their developing line with the visual guide provided by the dots. This process helps strengthen visual-motor integration, eye-hand coordination, and fine motor control.

Dot-connecting activities support the development of graphomotor, fine motor, and pre-writing skills that form an important foundation for handwriting and many other everyday tasks requiring precise coordination between seeing and doing.
